Welcome to Owen Clarke Design’s Class 40 charter page. The mission is to have you sailing these fast yet easy to handle boats and get you hooked on them. There are a number of Class 40's in different locations available as bareboat and skippered charters. The type, age, number of boats and availability vary from time to time, especially for US and Caribbean use and so we urge potential charterers to make their plans and contact us as early as possible.
40 Degrees (above) has been successfully chartered for events such as the Fastnet Race and the Transat Jacques Vabres
From 2009 to late 2013 Owen Clarke Design have been running the only charter company anywhere specialising in Class 40 yachts. During this period we’ve had Class 40’s with our charterers racing single-handed in the Route du Rhum, double-handed in the Atlantic Cup and fully crewed in the Round Ireland Race, among others. Good examples of the diverse nature of the racing and the geographical area that can be covered.
OCD started the endeavour primarily to offer the opportunity for sailors from outside of the class to get a taste of class 40 sailing, whether by offering day charters or race charters. We feel we’ve achieved that goal and have reached a stage where we need to hand over the entire operation to a company that can take the business to the next level and provide additional support services that OCD were never able to offer.
As a result, in January 2014 OCD handed over of its charter arm to UK sail training and yacht charter/management company, Sailing Logic. As well as its own established charter business which includes a number of their own yachts, Sailing Logic is the UK’s leading provider of yacht racing training in the UK, winners in no less than nine consecutive years of the RORC School Boat of the Year.
This web-page remains an active portal through which owners with Class 40s can make contact regarding joining the system and whereby prospective charters can find out from Sailing Logic how they can enter the exciting world of Class 40 sailing.
Please continue to make contact through firstname.lastname@example.org .Your email will be logged onto our own database and transferred directly to Sailing Logic.
