Listing agreement has just been signed on this exciting new addition to our line of brokered yachts. The first Owen Clarke third generation Class 40 Open design Cinnamon Girl is now for sale through the OCD brokerage.
The yacht has completed all of its racing since her launch in 2009 as Mare.De. In 2010 she was chartered by the successful German mini-sailor, but at the time Class 40 rookie, Joerg Riechers. Often racing in podium position, including the last 48hrs of the 2010 Route du Rhum, this fast skipper/boat combination’s best results was a fourth in the Les Sables, Azores, Les Sables race and a frustrating fourth by 27 minutes in the 2011 Normandy Channel Race, after which Joerg commented: “ We did a long debrief after the Normandy Race, so the 4thplace was more due to us doing a stupid course than due to the boat, if you do 25 miles more than the others its no good “.
Sister-ship to the Peter Harding’s second winning OCD Class 40, 40 Degrees, Cinnamon Girl was built in the West of England by Stig McDonald and his team that included two builders straight off the Ericsson Volvo 70 project. Beautifully constructed, she is certainly one of the lightest structures and best finished Class 40’s to date with all the winning potential of her better known sister.
