One week into the Barcelona World Race - race course tracker

In the 15 boat Barcelona World Race fleet, Owen Clarke Design contribute five designs, the newest being sister-ships Président (Ecover 3) and GAES Centros Auditivos, but our IMOCA Open 60s in the fleet date back to the former Kingfisher, which is now Fòrum Marítim Cata, launched back in 2000 for Ellen MacArthur.
After Owen Clarke the next most numerous designs are those of VPLP/Verdier and Farr with three apiece: Foncia, Virbac-Paprec 3 and Groupe Bel for the French partnership, then Farr with Estrella Damm, Renault ZE and Mapfre. Then four entries are accounted for by individual designs of Juan Kouyoumdjian (Hugo Boss), Marc Lombard (Neutrogena), Pierre Rolland (We Are Water) and Finot Conq (Fruit-ex Roxy, PRB).
Dee Caffari and Anna Corbella had a great start on Gaes, third around the first mark, while the best first days were had by French ace Jean Le Cam on President who lead the race for a time and spent most of this time in the top three after a cautious start.
The exit from the Med. Was tortuous with Le Cam and a number of the fleet coming to a halt on the Spanish shore while the leaders broke away with breeze on the African shore. Foncia, Virbac and Mirabaud lead the fleet out of the straits of Gibraltar with a hundred mile lead.
One week in to the race, he first three boats still occupied the same positions:
(3rd) Mirabaud, - Dominique Wavre (SUI) and Michèle Paret (FRA) (5th) Président - Jean Le Cam (FRA) and Bruno Garcia (FRA) (7th) GAES - Centros Auditivos (Dee Caffari (GBR) and Anna Corbella (ESP) (11th) Central Lechera Asturiana - Jaume Mumbru (ESP) and Fran Palacioex (ESP) (12th) Fòrum Marítim Català - Gerar Marin (ESP) and Ludovic Aglaor (FRA)
