| Three weeks to the day after her launch the yacht then left Sydney, bound for Auckland with Kip and Alan onboard. Barring any problems, on arrival in Auckland, Kip intends to set sail pretty much immediately on his 1000 mile qualifying sail for Next year’s single-handed transatlantic race.
Further sailing will then take place in New Zealand in January 2004 with designers Tim Sadler and Merfyn Owen along with sail-maker Rodney Keenan as part of the sail development program leading to the final selection of the race inventory. In early February, Kip and Alan will set sail again, this time around Cape Horn. Alan will jump ship in Brazil, allowing the boss to finish the delivery back to Europe in good time for the STAR which begins on May 30th.
