Deck and pilothouse in position on 65' Supercruiser |
| Tuesday, 12 August 2003 |
Last week the deck was lifted over the hull to be trimmed and the pilothouse fitted. Although it is not yet to be bonded on, it has given us the first life-size glimpse of what the boat will look like when she is finished. It’s awesome!
Having the deck in place has helped with getting a feeling for the interior space - there's heaps, just as lead designer Allen Clarke envisaged. It’s also given Marten Yachts a chance for fitting headliners and the hawse pipe.
Design is now down to the all important detailing. Interior units have been fitted and many parts are veneered, ready for painting and just waiting to go back in, in a few weeks time. Most of the machinery is now in the engine room, and the wiring is in place.
This week, the deck and pilothouse will be lifted off again to allow fitting of the deck gear and painting. |
