Friday, 15 November 2002
Now that the two halves of the hull have been laminated and cured in the oven the stbd side of hull was removed from it’s mould and fitted over the port side. The port side of the hull was kept in its mould to ensure the hull retained its correct shape. After checking the two halves fitted correctly they where then glued together. The centre line joint was then laminated inside and out with carbon fibre reinforcing. From there the hull could be removed from the port hull mould and rolled overt to show it’s true shape. From here the bulkheads and internal structural will be fitted starting at the ends and working toward the centre of the boat. Then the cockpit and coach roof which have been made in separate moulds can be fitted For more information about her builders, go to: http://www.mcconaghy-aus.com
