Owen Clarke’s project manager, Martin Carter, Golding and his team were there to oversee the safe offloading of the extremely precious cargo and no time was wasted with work starting immediately and the boat was soon lowered into the water. By mid morning rigging was being assembled and preparations were well underway for the mast to be stepped on Tuesday. As for the kiwi fruit ......it was still being off loaded!
The yacht will be dedicated on Wednesday in Antwerp at a ceremony organised by the boat’s sponsors, Ecover, before sailing immediately to Southampton, arriving Thursday pm. The yacht, Mike Golding and lead designer, Merfyn Owen will be at the Southampton Boatshow on Friday and Saturday on the features berth.
