Spirit of Adventure Sailing

Wednesday, 14 January 2004
Now the festive season is drawing to a close, work is back up to full speed. Continuing from Allen Clarke’s overseeing of the launch in December, other members of the design team are continuing to monitor the good progress which is being made on the commissioning of the new 65’ High Performance Cruiser in Auckland. All main systems are working as planned. The lifting canting keel has been tested in the water under both power and sail, though the hydraulics were run up before the launch. The electronics and navigation equipment are being calibrated. Of course, the sailing is also high on the list and there have been some great outings on the Hauraki Gulf, including a trip around Waiheke Island just after Christmas.
