Designed to be sailed short-handed, with her water ballast and an asymmetrical kite flown from the carbon bowsprit she can be enjoyed for racing or for more adventurous, offshore performance cruising.
As a vintage category Class 40, these boats get their own ranking as well as overall scores within Class 40 events, allowing for some competitive racing. In Europe these Akilaria RC1 are still being raced against the best of the Class 40 fleet and can provide a solid introduction to Class 40 racing.
Her current owner has recently invested in Mueyu with some new Quantum sails, rod rigging, Dyneema runners, halyards and sheets and nav electronics, together with a safety refresh, leaving only a few jobs for her new owner to enjoy miles of cruising or racing.
