Timed at almost 25 knots during its initial trials, the Catana 47 is fast, light, robust and exceptionally easy to handle, giving both helmsman and passengers a remarkable sensation of speed and acceleration. With its outstanding performance and excellent standards of safety and comfort, the Catana 47, now more than ever, is the ideal boat for your first round-the-world trip, whether you are sailing single-handed or with a partner. The new version is almost 700 kgs lighter, with carbon fibre used as standard for the main partitions, roof and numerous structural supports.

"Loire" was sailed from France and arrived in New Caledonia in August 2011. She was put under charter management only 18 months after her arrival by Dream Yacht Charter and sold to the actual owner in February 2019.

The owner undertook a complete refit in order to sail around the world single handed or with a small crew. She’s in perfection condition, safe, fast, solid and total. The hull, deck and bulkheads joint is glued and continuously laminated, and a full carbon fiber lamination joint is applied for the main bulkheads and floor frames. The hull and deck are as solid as though they were cast in one piece, guaranteeing an outstanding strength and lifespan.

The hull mould is composed of three main parts with parting lines at the bottom junctions. The hull is built with a foam sandwich and infused with vinylester and polyester resin and has a white gelcoat finish. The structure is reinforced with monolithic areas and the deck has a white gelcoat finish. The deck is also with a foam sandwich and infused vinylester and polyester resin. the deck also benefits from monolithic and plywood reinforcements, as well as numerous areas being made in full carbon fiber. Structural main bulkheads are made in infusion foam carbon sandwich to provide the best toughness.
