Owen Clarke Performance Yacht Brokerage are proud to have on our books a very smart Verdier designed Tyker 2 from 2010. 'Espoir' had a refit prior to the 2018 Route du Rhum though starting the race the skipper found the going tough and had to retire, to Spain, for personal reasons.
This epoxy foam sandwich build had some great measurement figures when first launched with a minimum weight of 4544 kg and a mast pull down weight of 315kg making her close to optimal for this vintage of Class 40.
This blue water racing yacht was seriously prepared for the TJV 2021 and has since been chartered back to Concarneau without damage. She is for sale, fully ready to race for an ORC Cat 1 Race.
A major refit was carried out in 2015, and a further re-fit and optimization in 2021. This included a new paint job inside and out, and all worn parts replaced. The water ballast was optimised and all the onboard sytems were over hauled.
The deck hardware was systematically serviced and elements replaced where broken. The mast was also repainted in the refit, along with all the standing rigging being replaced.
