CALEDONIA is a true oceangoing, lifting keel, cutter rigged, steel sloop. Launched in 2000 in the Netherlands, she was specified to her original owner’s requirements, who lived onboard for 17 years. In 2020/2021, a major refit was undertaken, in addition to servicing and upgrades, she was totally repainted, hull, deck, superstructure and interior. 

This rugged vessel has proved her seaworthiness in the rough cold waters and ice in the Arctic. She is equipped with a crash zone forward and has several watertight compartments including the stern garage, aft cabin, engine room and workshop.

CALEDONIA presents in very good condition and offers a fantastic opportunity to acquire a well respected ocean-going sailing yacht for worldwide bluewater cruising. She is priced to sell and comparing very well to a new build of a comparable sailing yacht which would cost in excess of €2 million.



The deck is ergonomic with wide open spaces and a bulwark with stainless steel fairleads and cleats for mooring lines. The original teak deck was removed, the deck re-preserved and re-fitted with a new 10 mm fully bonded teak deck (2020). All hatches were changed to LEWMAR flush hatches (new 2020) and all stainless steel dorades were overhauled and repolished.
 

The yacht has two bow anchors and one stern anchor. For the bow anchors, there are two windlasses, one hydraulic and one electric. There is a wash down system on the foredeck. The new sun pads (2020) for the foredeck covered with water-repellent Sunbrella Marine Plus (colour toast 152) offer sunbathing space for four people.
 

The safe centre cockpit has a U-shaped sofa with comfortable seating for 6 people, renewed 2020. The fold-out cockpit table can be expanded into a larger table. The yacht can be comfortably steered and operated without leaving the cockpit even under sail. 

Behind the centre cockpit there is a bench for 2 people with cushions, which also forms the entrance to the stern garage and the access for the emergency rudder.

  • CALEDONIA is designed for single-handed sailing. All sheets are lead back to the centre cockpit. The two furling headsails and the mainsail, which can be hydraulically furled into the mast, are easily set and recovered from the cockpit. The staysail is self-tacking and its sheet is lead to a self-tacking track and then aft to a hydraulic cockpit winch. The mainsheet is also lead aft to a hydraulic winch in the cockpit.

INTERIOR

  • The interior of CALEDONIA is a brilliant blend of elegance, form and function. Walk down the stairs from the cockpit and enter the spacious deckhouse, which is light and bright. Large, fixed windows all around. They are two large opening LEWMAR hatches that provide good ventilation. The large U-shaped seating area to port is covered in beige leather (new 2020). On the starboard side is the inside steering position with inside navigation and electrical panel 12 and 24V and a large chart table. 
  • All the teak wood in the interior was refurbished and newly varnished during the 2019/2020 refit. The ceilings and side walls were painted white. 
  • Aft of the deckhouse, there is the companionway leading to the engine room, captain’s berth and Master's cabin. The spacious master cabin has a double and a single bed and an ensuite bathroom (newly built in 2020) with a two-person sauna built in behind the shower. The guest cabin in the bow, has a large double bed with an adjoining bathroom with shower facilities. The bathroom has two doors and is also accessible from the lower saloon. Both cabins have LEWMAR opening deck hatches and dorade vents.
  • The front steps from the deckhouse lead into the lower saloon which also includes the spacious and well-equipped galley  on port with a counter. There is a sitting area on starboard with table (that can be converted into a bed (200 x 90)) from which you can enjoy either the built-in fireplace or the swivelling LED TV (new 2019). 
  • Under the deckhouse, there is a laundry with a Miele automatic washing / drying machine WTF130 WRM (new 2019) and a workshop.
