Brand New – Guillaume Verdier Pogo S4 #192 – Launched April 2023 – Never Raced

This Pogo40 S4 V2 is the latest Class40 from multiple America’s Cup, Vendée Globe and Route du Rhum winning designer Guillaume Verdier. She was born with a desire to win the pinnacle Transat races plus next year’s Class40 race around the world.

Designed to be versatile, powerful and most-important structurally reliable, Verdier combines his usual emphasis on minimum drag for offwind and light air speed with a powerful scow bow for higher average speeds throughout the wind range. Offwind and VMG sailing in particular this design appears to be leading the class of the 2023 fleet, born out again by the latest Fastnet victory.

So, with major oceanic wins already in the drawer including the very rough 2023 Fastnet (1st and 4th) and other wins closer to shore, the Pogo S4 is now a proven top performer. Among recent customers are current Figaro Solitaire winner and Vendée Globe winner Vincent Riou.

This 2023 example of the Pogo S4 V2 hits all the right numbers with 37kg of internal ballast to bring her up to minimum weight and maximum stability. It features the complete list of Pogo upgrades including the latest 5-winch layout incorporating the latest Harken 3-speed high top-gear winches. It also has Morfrac furlers and halyard locks – all upgraded from standard (3/4.5 tonne) to 4.5/6-tonne for oceanic racing. (Standard locks have proved a weak point with many failures this year across the class.)

She also features every possible latest option in terms of electronics, equipment, and sails with North 3Di throughout (plus now available as an extra a Quantum Sails custom Code Zero to replace the gennaker when racing under IRC and ORC). The principle North Sails inventory is all 3Di and consists of Main/J1/J2/J3/A2/A4/A6/gennaker.

The very latest onboard electronics include the full suite of Class40 electronics and instruments and autopilot, all supplied, installed, calibrated and warranted by Skysat in May 2023. Full details on request.
