‘Vaquita’ is a 2007 Akilaria Class 40 RC1 built by MC-TEC and designed by Marc Lombard. She is one of the few RC1 models, with a deck layout designed purely for competition and has been continually optimised. She finished 3rd in the 2023 Palermo to Montecarlo Race and previously won the 2009 Class 40 World Championship and line honours in the 2012 ARC Rally.
After an extensive refit in 2022, ‘Vaquita’ is now comprehensively equipped for her forthcoming endeavours. She delivers an ideal combination of performance and adaptability, making her suitable both for demanding offshore racing campaigns and as a capable, fast cruiser. Currently class-compliant and actively competing on the Mediterranean Class 40 circuit. As a Vintage category Class 40 yacht, she benefits from a dedicated ranking at events, providing an additional competitive advantage for a prospective owner interested in high-performance offshore sailing or enjoying the dynamic experience this vessel offers.
‘Vaquita’ would also make an ideal race yacht for the 2027 Solo Global Challenge or other major offshore racing campaigns.
