We are delighted to present a 5th generation Owen Clarke Design Class 40 ‘Imagine’ now available through our brokerage. Launched in 2019 and expertly constructed by Cape Racing Yachts in South Africa, she combines robust build quality with refined performance. From the outset ‘Imagine’ proved her competitive edge, securing an impressive victory in the RORC Cowes–Cherbourg Race, alongside a second-place finish in the La 40’ Malouine SACIB and a third in the Normandy Channel Race, all within her debut season. More recently, she has demonstrated her versatility and endurance, racing double-handed in the Mediterranean and successfully completing both the Transat Jacques Vabre and the Transat Café L’Or.
Conceived as a truly all-round design, ‘Imagine’ offers a balance of speed, reliability and adaptability, free from the compromises of optimisation for any single race format. This capability makes her equally suited to offshore competition and extended ocean racing challenges. Well maintained and continually upgraded, she benefits from a comprehensive refit history, including rig replacement and the renewal of standing and running rigging in 2023 and 2024. Presented with a comprehensive inventory, ‘Imagine’ is ready for her next campaign, whether as an entry point into Class 40 racing or as a formidable contender for the next edition of the Globe 40 Round the World Race.
