This Class 40 is derived from the first generation of Class 40’s from Owen Clarke Design. At the time, Koloa Maoli was constructed without compromise, using the highest spec materials the Class 40 association rules allowed. Epoxy, E-Glass fibre on foam core sandwich.

Her first major event was a successful campaign by Ian Munslow in the Route Du Rhum 2006 placing an impressive 3rd . Throughout this and her previous ownership she has been cared for by the accomplished Maine Yacht Centre and stored under cover in a winterised condition and has enjoyed many upgrades including new mast and rigging. Most recently she was prepared and successfully completed the Global Solo Challenge (2024) 6th place. She has an impressive inventory and is specified to OSR Cat 0. Having enjoyed the race the owner is ready to pass on the reins to a new adventurer. Prepared for a circumnavigation, she would make an ideal entry for the World Star 2026 or Global Solo Challenge 2027.
