The Owen Clarke designed American Class 40 Scowling Dragon won the Bermuda 1-2 this past weekend. The short handed sailboat race from Newport USA, to Bermuda and back is sailed first singlehanded outbound and double-handed on the return leg of this classic yacht race.
After a 2024 season cut short when she lost her bowsprit and suffered extensive damage in a 50kt + knockdown, this first race of the 2025 season has shown the boat’s potential and outright speed when she beat her nearest competitor by over two hundred miles on the return leg.
